Mom's, you need these in your apothecary! - Herbal Allies for Hormone Health

Herbal medicine is a big part of my daily life. I drink at least one liter of tea per day! Herbal tea is a great way to meet nutritional needs and feel into cozy vibes. I swear tea can help you travel to a different place in your mind, your emotions, your heart. Tea can do that!

Well, it’s the plants in particular. These are my daily herbs to provide holistic support (mind, body, and spirit).

  1. Red Raspberry Leaf. Loaded with  minerals and nutrients. It supports the muscles of the uterus to function properly. A must have for women and mothers.

  2. Nettle. Another nutrient powerhouse. This one provides some energy but contains no caffeine.

  3. Oatstraw. This plant is a friend to the nervous system. It helps calm down frazzled nerves without making you drowsy.

  4. Rose. I am always adding rose hips or petals into my daily cup. They support the emotional body, namely the heart. It allows me to move through my day through the heart space. Not only that, they’re a wonderful flavor and full of vitamin C.

  5. Burdock and Dandelion Root. These are two different roots but both support the liver and digestion. I have found that using these in my tea has helped my digestive and skin health. If you’ve used my earth embodiment method, you know the skin is the last frontier of symptoms for hormone imbalance. The liver and digestive system are two major systems we discuss within that course.

  6. Ashwagandha. Is an herb I come to when my emotional/mental health has taken a back seat. It’s also great for daily maintenance of stress. This one is most potent as a tincture. Simply add a dropper full and you're set.

Always do your own research when it comes to herbal products. I am continuously surprised when I find research on common herbs that are causing more harm than good. Looking at you lavender. (That’s a post for another time.) But also don’t stress. Herbal actions may be less potent than typical over the counter but are more effective long term. I personally follow a more folk herbalism practice. I allow myself to connect with the plants and let them lead. Which herbs are needed today? How can I be supported by these herbal allies? And also the contrary, which herbs are not needed today? My daily bled stays relatively the same with a few fluctuations throughout my cycle.

Man, I just love sharing old ways of stuff. Herbal teas do that for me. Fingers crossed, we will be able to forage enough this growing season to support another round of seasonal tea blends. Last year they sold out so quickly and prolifically I had to skip the next few seasons to catch up. Which I love! But taking your interest into account for my foraging needs going forward is a bit of a learning curve. One I'm happy to tackle!

Be sure to follow on my socials for more herbal information as the foraging season picks up around here.

Love you all! Taylor
